there you are again

nothing more than

on paper

for we have not met

or touched

or peered into

coloured iris

you are

syntax and syllables

risen from pen and ink

put forth through silicon

and fiber optics

and yet

I hunger

for each corner

of the world

you create

I am

by the enigma

of you

and mystified at my

connection to you

how you could know

what I need to hear

when my loneliness

echoes inside me

how you could understand

the hollowness

that haunts me

your words act

like salve

on a soul-deep burn

but I

being no one in particular

remain silent in my reverie

mute in my emotion

confused in my longing

and yearn for the moment

when I can tell you

how you move me
