it is here
tucked inside
deep in the recesses
beneath the minutia
thriving in the tiniest place

the thinnest strand
as strong as the thickest steel

it permeates
while I deliberate

and offers
hope
when the world
takes hope away

resistant
to rationale and reason
relying on instinct
and conviction

it is the wayward glance at tomorrow
the confidence that love conquers all
and fairy tales can come true

in the crux of the chaos
it is the point of the point
the root of the root

stripped bare of all pretense
it is what remains

a silver thread
spun from the essence of hope

tied around the finger
of my humanity

Yes hope is woven in our hearts and gives us pause when things go awry as they often do, and lifts us beyond the chaos to see a new day and the reason for living, it keeps our faith intact when others have lost both.
