A personal sharing of thoughts and feelings in dealing with death

The pain of loosing someone we
love can be almost unbearable

We miss their laughter, smell,
voice and presence

Feelings of emptyness and
lonelyness transcend as we
try to get through long days
and endless nights

Sometimes one feels isolated,
alone and despondant as they
search for answers and try to cope

As days merge into weeks,
months, the pain lessens

Talking and sharing special
moments and memories help to
ease burdens

Prayer lifts the soul and
opens it to Gods loving grace

Their spirit lives on

If we can make each day count
for something special, and do
a good deed for others,
we'll find solace and the
will to go on

Open up your hearts and minds
to the beauty of the world and
let Gods light shine within
You'll be ok !

Kinder words never said to me by anyone. I can relate to this poetry. It is so comforting in my time of gried. To keep on helping others takes a lot of my time but I don't mind. I have a poem called Busy and it is about having to keep busy too. Days are really long, but they are gotten through somehow. Memories and prayers help as you said. You are such a strong person and christian at that. I know you are helping me and want to let you know it. It is amazing that a person like you is on the den. Your words come at the right time and flow so nicely and are easy to understand. God Bless You.

Only someone who has known loss could have wrote a "feeling" poem such as "The Pain Of Loss". It is a true account of loss.

MaryGrace, when we lose a loved one, friend, etc., it's like our hearts will never heal, but as your words speak in truth, after awhile "we" do get to where "we" can at least bear it and move on in life. We keep those precious memories in our minds to keep us remembering the good & bad times we shared. A nice write.
