Burden of Age

...where does the time go...

Melancholy and aching

Blow off the dust,
cloaking timeworn features

A memory in the making.

Starving for mobility
bones do creak.

Youthful enthusiasm
an ill used utility.

Age has left a battered sacrifice
No longer the wistful teacher.

Burden --

a steadfast
vice.

Amber,

Yes, where does the time go? This is an excellent reflection of life especially from one so young. Simply perfect in every way.

Many have wondered if old age was a blessing or a curse? It is not easy to wither and weaken with age, yet some are more fortunate than others. Some are still able to share their gifts of love, experience and knowledge with others. How fortunate it is to be a writer and be able to share the fruits of our creativity with others. A very well written poem, Amber!

Aging is the curse of living in this dimension; thankfully, when all is said and done here, there is a new beginning. Thank you for sharing this insightful offering, Amber. Love and peace to you. Regis
