At the Ending of the Day
A Separate Silence
Oceans of Sky

Starlight wandering, the skies
Open like blood on a waning moon.
Clouds swim effortlessly in a night atmosphere,
Time telling cacophonies
Within soporific wines, white,
Selected juices, fruit essences which
Temper the mind, renew the soul.
Overwhelm the sculpted mountains,
Heave over the earth with
Blue, celestial figures of grace.
Tinctured with paints rich and divine,
Singing syllables of color over
Surfaces gilded and winding, forever
Winding, saturnine, placed
Within space, directing planets
Into a mass of drifting luminosity;
Nebulas violet and crimson, birthplace
Of suns, crèches of devotion, mark
The galaxies which end darkness,
Rushing into a curved forever.
