Dreams can shatter like broken glass. Dare to dream, never give up. Live life to the fullest.

A vision of apple blossom bliss
unlimited possibilities danced
on his fingertips
like a bubble ready to burst
or take flight.

He reached from tiptoes
and the bubble took
the form of a tiny tangible ball
rolling to the palm of his hand.

Elation filled his soul
filling his eyes with
tears of enthusiasm,
but with an unstable grip
the wind blew the ball away,
rolling fiercely,
occasionally halting,
teasingly, false hope
as he chased frantically
to recover the ball,
broken hearted…..
watching the ball become
a fragile bubble again,
rolling, bouncing,
popped and splattered.
Dreams shattered in an instance.

Fingertips tingled from longing,
feelings of a once
obtainable vision,
blown away with the wind,
fragile, shattered and

Dare he dream again,
reach so high,
ignore pride,
or live with haunting
taunts of what could have been,
might have been,
possibly could still be,
if only he could
hold on tighter
and never let go
of the vision?

Great poem Mary!
This is so powerful:
"...Fingertips tingled from longing,
feelings of a once
obtainable vision,
blown away with the wind,
fragile, shattered and
"Dreams shattered in an instance."
(Happened yesterday!) Thank you for sharing!
