A Small Loss by Smokey Lonesome Friday, April 15, 2005 Rated "G" by the Author. Share Print Save Become a Fan Excuse me . . . just a short love-lost lament from one of yester-years encounters.
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - The pain of losing cast a far bigger shadow than the joys of possession . . . To miss what you never really had is a fleeting and wasted emotion . . . Come now into the shelter of my soul, so that I might love you as mine own . . . We will cast away the tomorrows, because eternity doesn't need them . . . When you have to go I'll not be sad, for I was lucky to love you when . . . I will hold those memories forever beneath the scars of my loss . . . For the pain of losing love is far more hurt than the sorrow of death... This I cannot accept, and not to accept is a loss of possession Smokey Lonesome November, 1969 / Orlando, Florida
