These Aches Wretch at My Heart

These aches
wretch at my heart
when you are gone
and we are apart
I am wretched
without you here
this pain is severe
I can't take another year
With me here
and you there
my spirit is despondent
falling in deep despair
To not touch you
is torture I thought
I would never go through
this has become a distracting issue
My courage is strong
this feels so terribly wrong
I want to go on
it's harder when you're gone
To smell your manly scent
it left when you went
to feel your tender touch
is what I miss so very much.

I have felt this way a few times over the years as the Military had taken my husband away for 6, 9, and 10 months at a time. Thank you for sharing Shee.
