Words are risky, they sometimes get the wrong idea

OF WORDS AND IDEAS

My words ,like mosquitoes

sneak up on the body of an idea –

surreptitiously suck and steal its lifeblood

to feed themselves

or buzz in threateningly -

like kamikazi pilots

all noise and no substance

knowing full well

the risk they take

of being flattened

by an avenging hand.

I love your study of words: mosquitoes attack and words can create chaos.. but they have a weakness ,in this poem, SPLAT! you can flattened them with ... the large hand of "silence" .....anne pawlak. great poem.

Yes! I know that of which you write. Words often "scare" me into not writing them for fear of being misunderstood. That's why I wait for strong inspiration before I write. Thank you for sharing this offering, Joyce. Love and peace to you. Regis
