Here's a mood, a reation that comes upon us in many situations. Everywhere. We, writers, know it by the name "block". But it can appear whenever high hopes and finally come face to face with the work it takes to achieve them.

Everywhere
I'm at some mundane task,
And ask fate to kick in,
Good fate to be sure,
A boost toward something grand.
Then things get hard,
And I want no meddling in my life,
Just simplicity again.
Neither works, for it's not I alone
Who names the favored state.
Choices and actions are my partners,
Shaping me, and each other.
They find me even when I seek to hide.
No day is ever just my day,
As, arm in arm,
We shape our fate together,
My partners and I.
