"There are Times" is the fourth of eight poems that were written over many years, starting in a distressing period of my life and reaching – gradually, finally – new understanding. I didn’t plan the individual poems as a coherent collection and didn’t realize the story they told until I recently read through a number of older poems. Those poems felt like preludes to newer ones, revealing, in concert, what was really going on inside me. Though much occurred in my life before the first poem took shape, and though I am still very much alive, I call this collection: Lifecycle. At very least, it traverses the circular path of one of the most significant cycles in my life so far.
A new poem will be added for each of the next four weeks;
The previous poems in Lifecycle are: Half-Alive, Second Skin and First Guest.

There are Times
There are times in life to get through
None are simple, nor are easy.
Who said they’re supposed to be so?
You can’t assume that easy’s good,
Or that difficult’s any better.
It’s the getting through that counts.
Are you better or are you worse?
In the end it’s enough to be different.

| You are better off going through those trials in life. They make you stronger, more appreciative, more truthful, more to look forward to in the future. |

We call it perserverence to endeavor in whatever we wish too. Trials and tribulations are just side roads that we all must learn to deal with, well said....
Be always safe,

| Wisely stated. It's so important to be yourself instead of what other's want you to be. Honest and well written. |

I like this series, Charles. There are times, but in the long
run, how much of the good and bad do we really remember? In the
end, it's enough to get through, I suppose. |
