The weirdest mental journey overtook me in my car as I was returning from vacation. This is my attempt to capture it.

Surfing the nexus of possibilities
Through which all universes sift

An apocalypse rests upon my thumb
Twitching and throbbing
In sunset-dappled birth pangs

The space between you of this minute
And you of last decade
Is infinitely closer
Than the molecules of the tree you sit under

The distance between the Roman Empire of ages
And today’s divided Homeland
Is less than all the miles between London and Paris
Thanks to reality TV

Tipping an existential toe between the waves
Of alternate realities
I splash in tides of memory
That suck away my footprints
While dreams scuttle like crabs

The web of thought is gaping and gossamer
Casting feeble threads to capture
Cavorting sunlight dancing heedless
As the trees sing
And the world strolls by

A kaleidoscope of Heaven and Hell
Lapping the fingertips of your senses

How about another mug
of spacetime?

This wonderful poem transported me with its joyful journey into all the purity that "being there" can bring. An altered state of consciousness that we seldom experience only becasue we sleep so much with our eyes open. Perhaps it wasn't a dream after all, but a moment of awakening. I loved this one, Melissa!

You spelled it out all right, the craze of reality TV has completely made television even more troubling than I ever though possible. You are right in another regard, it is all there . . . Just surf, you'll find it.

This was indeed an intense ride through the braincells but it seems you managed to capture it quite well, serious thoughts and ideas here to consider and digest and all laid out so clearly.
