Suspended In Time

You and I came together

without bringing us

You held your heart

I stayed in mine

We drilled holes in walls

opened doors a peep

tempted history

probing for leaks

Do we exist somewhere

suspended in time

aging to perfection

tomorrow’s fine wine

Caught up with day-to-day

examined head to toe

pounds and gray hair

every last line

Small things aside

big ones under cover

broken hearts unchecked

the silence is over

Love at times is like a gush of water running over a bizarrely shaped scape. Even when absorbed by the soil or evaporated by the heat of the sun, it does not change that fact that it once existed. Not a single particle disappeared since the beginning of creation, just like no event has ever escaped the memory of the universe. It is the essence of life, no matter how unaware of this we may be. Poems perhaps are the retrieving tools of life.

yes, we do exist God made us to exist but there are those who would rather we didn't exist...

Perfect. I agree that love develops solid base as it matures over the years of togetherness.

True love never sees the extra pounds or the imperfectons. And even if they do..they don't dwell on them. It takes years to ferment such a togetherness, but once found the sweetness is embedded to a forever depth.
Perfect write.

Deep introspective look at love as it ages and matures. We all suffer I think the same angst as our years ahead seem to look shorter then the ones behind us. At least that someone is out there waiting in the wings. Perfect write here Sandi I give it a 10.
