Your freedom marks the end of mine.

My serenity, relinquished

to feelings turned into thoughts,

and thoughts that create feelings,

and questions without answers,

sends my head and heart into battle.

I snub answers to the questions

slogging through my head,

and donít want to know

if those questions donít plague you,

or if you donít have answers to mine.

My dreams come alive now,

ignore my lullabies.

I entertain them one minute,

shush them in the next breath.

Damn you

for making my dreams possible

after I had put them to rest.

Sandy, I especially liked this line in the poem...
......................................................................................
"...donít want to know if those questions donít plague you,
or if you donít have answers to mine."
......................................................................................

In fact, I liked the whole poem. There is turmoil and frustration, yet a bit of hope towards the end. I think there's a touch of fear expressed too. Very interesting. I'm glad I stopped by to read a while. I always find something to ponder and enjoy on your pages.

Very well put Sandy. When my head and my heart are in a tug of war, I listen to my heart, even tho it may be the lonely huntress. Thank you for sharing this battle within.

WOW! The head & heart in a tug of war. "Your freedom marks the end of mine...Damn you for making my dreams possible after I had put them to rest." This resonates like a well-aged bell. Saved! Great poetry!!
