The Masquerade Ball

showing my age here

The Masquerade Ball

You waltzed me around the floor

Spinning my head too fast

My heart covered my eyes

So I didn’t see your mask

I thought it was come as you are

And delivered my true self

But it was a masquerade ball

And you came as someone else

You wore a suit of armor

Pretending to be strong

I thought you would protect me

Instead you let me fall

I saw you in that white hat

That magnified your eyes

I thought that stood for honor

But it only hid your lies

I thought it was come as you are

And delivered my true self

But it was a masquerade ball

And you came as someone else

The depicting of a frustrated romantic experience,
"The Masquerade Ball" has delivered.

Carnal attraction and passion blind eyes. Love increases
the eyes´ capacity to see beauty; and improves the mind to
understand greatness.

Beautifully said Sandy, you hit the emotional nail on the head with this one, for it stirs the emotions of trust VS deception so well...beautifully done.
