Dancing lovers in the night
In a room filled with shadows, twilight’s whispers can’t be heard.
Images cross against the wall, slowly fall, slowly fall.
They dance together, tips touching as the lines draw together.
A whisper lighter than a feather, they dance in shadows, to embrace.
There are few limits to their space.
Shape shifters they play; in love is motion, a notion.
Through the window a gust blows, the dance grows.
Across the wall, they’re dancing glows, no one knows.
Shadows alive in twilight’s whispers.
The room a wash in the candles flickers, flickers
Glowing light, not bright, printed wall paper lives at night.
From a candle flame, shadows come and shadows go.
Living lives in loving red rose, no one else knows.
To see them dance in loving embrace.
Bringing life to a forgotten space
Seeing my thoughts displayed right in my face.
It’s my mind seeing the faces.
Dancing laughter on the wall.
This really does make me feel small.
The flame draws cold, cools and the light is lost.
The room cools like the morning frost
The shadows rush back into my minds backwash.
Their lives stalled but not really lost.
For when the moment returns, in silent twilight and stillness of the night.
A flame lights and my shadows are free, played for only me to see.
