Not blessed with children my nephew and his wife
Sought to adopt a child to fill empty family life.
What cause for mingling two earthly lives, than to share
Love and hope with a child needing utmost care.
That could be their own!

To far off Columbia this couple flew
With a Spanish vocabulary lacking.
A family of three the agency hated to undo!
|Would they take all three kids—a new beginning?
For their own?

With no delay a saintly decision was made;
This family flew back to the states together.
The children no longer faked a masquerade:
Mama Donna—Papi Scott would be parents forever.
Our own children!

For better or worse parents vowed before their God,
Their lives displayed kindness, not life rough-shod.
In their breasts they’ve taken God’s chosen three:
Lovely Carol, Anji and handsome, Jhon Fredy
To be their own!

My advantage is that these three kids are mine,
To cherish, love, and tease I’ll do my utmost.
They’ve won my heart, they’ve put me to the test
Till some old-age illness rips my heart from my chest.
An unc that loved them like his own.

When I pass on to unearthly lands,
Makes little dif’rence to me.
The three kids are now in God’s good hands!
I can leave them,
These five are one family!

So beautifully written and heartwarming. To adopt all 3 children so they would not have to part. Love and Faith are flowing in these words. May God bless you every day of your life.

I agree with Connie Faust...this touches the emotions. How wonderful that these three children were allowed to stay together. How generous and loving! I wish this young family - and you - much joy!
