The Thief

Give back my heart to me
Shouted I angrily at the sea
But it only roared a loud protest
As I stomped my foot at it’s pilfering quest!

It’s not for you to take away
It belongs to me, and mine it’ll stay
Go rob another of his heart and soul
There are plenty of others for you to hold.

The sea only laughed at my false proclamation
As I stood before it, in naked fascination
It had stripped away all my feigned deceit
And unmasked my guise of make belief.

How eagerly the heart desires to satisfy
The one who has captured it and given it life.
So sweet is submission and total surrender.
I love you my sea. I love you, I whispered.

Better be watching yourself with regards stomping your feet and yelling at ole mom ocean, you may find yourself on the receiving end of a good swift smack or wave action that will knock you off your feet...Ed

Ah the sea is a stern mistress as pretty as a child and just as tempormental from laughing and calm and beautiful one minute to angry and spiteful and tearing up all around it the next minute, but how can we not love it.
