|I will stop obsessing, I will stop obsessing. LOL. I guess then I'd better mean it this time. :-) These writings on the Ouroboros definitely cause introspection, Sage. No great discourse on doctrine today for me, thanks. I'm up to my neck in flesh and blood issues. I thank you for giving us all matters to mull over. Happy New Year! ~~Nordette|

|I find the whole "name" thing fascinating; we may believe we have received them at random, but, in my limited exploration, most names DO tend to bear out personality traits that are intrinsic and inherent in the presenting character, I think. Do I digress? Probably, but, on the other hand, I have just written a poem about owning/disowning a name that is "put" upon you... perhaps, if names are descriptive, then Lucifer is who/what old Black Dog was "like" before he got too big for his lead boots and Satan is a symbol of how he became after. We are, after all, one and the same person however we have cause to evolve, but, whereas when I was six I made everyone call me Mandy, now I am Kate! :)) I like the title "Father Of All Lies" myself - for him, not me - and, as such, I daresay he has as many names as Houdini has chains he's slipped... Whatever... just cos we don't know how to address him don't make him any less real; just adds to his slippery nature, don't it? Nuthin I like better than a spot of shapeshifting and procrastinatin. BTW, wasn't it said that he was head of the worship band in heaven, before he sucked on them sour grapes and sought to turn all the glory on himself? Creatin me own tabloid here, Sage, in which case I certainly should be boycotted; Translated Exactly as "Time to zipper up, Kate... Mandy... Elizabeth"... Hmmm still mullin over Angry's "meekness of a strong mind"... I like it! :))|

|This is a very delicate subject that must be discussed with the meekness of a strong mind. At this point I'm not qualified to elaborate. Yet I am willing to learn. Therefore I have a question. Are people saying that Satan's name is Lucifer? Or are they trying to say that the ways of Lucifer comes from the nature, and character of Satan? I ask because I am not named the Angry Dove by my parents. But I am called The Angry Dove because it is a name that is definative of my nature, character, and purpose as a spiritual being in Christ. The word Angry means I am passionate about defending good, and standing against what is evil and unjust. Yet the Dove is a testimate of how although I'm angry against those things that causes us to perish. I always make my defense in the meekness of love and hope that I may not be an offense to anyone. Therefore, the anger which is from without, is submissive to the good that's within.
So maybe the ways that Satan took on when he came against God, and got himself kicked out of heaven, were the ways that the writer of the bible saw overtake babylon. Although he was addressing the people. Maybe that spirit, and behavior that overtook them, and caused them to become as wicked as they were because they were possessed by Satan.
Now I consider my thoughts the least of everyone's else's in this arena. Therefore, I am not speaking to educate. I was inquirring because I seek knowledge. So thank all for your insights, and for bringing up such a thought provoking and praise worthy conversation. I've enjoyed your minds, and I'm grateful for your knowledge. God bless you all. And keep speaking, and writing from the heart. You are really making a wonderful difference in this world of ours. God bless you. Peace and love forever!

|I agree with Jerry Bolton in that the 'edited' version of the bible has probably been as diluted as any other edited book. Writers of all walks know how that is. I wish I had the skills to go back and look through the original documents for myself. You open up some interesting questions...|

|In Isaiah 14:12 "How you are fallen from heaven O Lucifer, son of the morning! How you are cut down, you who weakened the nations." In exegesis this is noted as Isaiah speaking of Babylon. Lucifer is not Satan, but just as God has many names some not his ,but given to him by those who wrote of Him, so too does Satan in the same way. Lucifer is a name attributed to Satan, by those who wrote the scriptures.Excellent once again Sage, very informative, thought provoking, and entertaining!

|Yeh ..I believe Satan is Lucifer, alias Morning Star, Day Star
Whichever way you look at it, he ( Lucifer ) is the antithesis of Almighty God
And it never ceases to amaze me Sage, when folks doubt Satan's existence.you only have to look around and see the mayhem and havoc he is creating in our world !
If you accept there is a God, then you must also accept his Holy Word, and that Sacred Scripture is word perfect, given to the chosen prophets as they received it ! Pure and pristine !

|Ya gettin' deep inside the mysteries of the Bible and its assorted fables here, Sage. To take the Bible as absolute truth has been the bane of many a devot zealot. I maintain that the scriptures have been diluted and shaped with each succeding century to meet the priests and shamans own peculiar version of divine glory. I allso maintain that, yes, it has a tendency to swallow itself and metamorphose into whatever "reasoning" is available in any point in time.|
