You Touched My Life

You Touched My Life

How many times were you brave
And I didn’t know it?
You came into my life by chance.

You touched my life
And I touched yours.
I’m a better person for it.

What hardships did you face
That I didn’t know?
You were so steadfast, a rock,
In the face of adversity.
I respected you for it.

How many times were you strong
In the eyes of your children?
Did they see it,
Despite their playfulness?

You touched their lives
And they touched yours.
They will love you forever.

I admired your smile,
Your quiet determination,
Your rich laugh,
Your resilient courage.

Missing you
Will be the bravest thing
I’ve ever done.

This is very very very good. I recently lost my brother on September 2nd and the last three lines were what got me. You sure do, SG Cardin, possess an excellent talent for poetry and I am glad you share it with people. Keep on writing and keep on touching hearts everywhere.

I found your poem today following the loss of my daughter on Thursday at the age of 44 years after a long fight against cancer. It is a beautiful poem and I am giving a copy of it to my son-in-law to share with their children.
