Take Me To The Shore

Take me to the shore
let me play some more
let me squish my feet in the wet sand
let me rest for now; my
happiness will come at a price.

And that is the last advice
I will ever give to you
just be yourself and know
that I find you true .

Spread the blue cover just so upon the sand
put up the striped umbrella
lay out my long, relaxing chair
hand me the cold drink.

Rub the silky lotion in
all over my pale, freckled skin
make sure you do it gently
and don't miss a win-
dow of opportunity.

I know you want to be close
it comes later in the day
hand me my fluffiest towel and wrap it around us
shade my eyes with your caress.

Come and sit near me
drink this cold drink, too
touch my skin so hot now
and soothe it with the chilled aloe.

Show me all your treasures
I will show you mine
Shells I have collected today
pink, blue, silver and more
They met me at the shore
and begged me to pick them.

More precious than sparkling jewels they are
if you feel the same way then
we may get to stay together
until the next day.

Fill me with your winsome smiles
look at me so tenderly
wrap my curls around your fingers
drink another frosty drink with me.

Tomorrow comes too fast
this lazy, loving feeling may not last
so drink this day with me
spend it quietly, laughingly
til the sun sets in the pink sky.

Will you leave or stay?
Will you want to play?
Will you be mine for now?
Let me feel your embrace.
The sweet kisses on my face
await you to draw your design
upon my fading palette of sighs.

Deep and dreamy I have become
Long and slow I am yours for now
Take me at this point in time
While I can still sing a ryhmn.

Just watching your face is calming
Look out to the ocean waves with me
dig your toes deep in and wiggle
don't mind me when I giggle.

Come and stay awhile
make it last as long as you can
we can pretend that today is ours
and we're the only ones on this land.
