When you hear some chewing, chewing
on your screen tonight....
Look to see if it is some Rabbit
out to bite
a hole right through
to drag an Easter basket in for you.
Leave the poor bunny a carrot or two
add a little lettuce
he is probably weary
and as many miles to go
(you know that poem)
Yes, he has many miles to go
before he crawls home to his cozy nest
to rest.
There are bundles of candy,
chocolate and gum drops.
There are toys even and some parents
have even requested some books!!!
The Rabbit is so glad he is not Santa
carrying that even heavier load around
the town!
The girls are primping and getting all curled up and dolled up
wearing lace and ribbons
curling their hair
for their Easter Parade tomorrow.
Pretty hats and quaint gloves,
dainty purses and swirly skirts.
The boys are taking baths
washing the dirt away
from the play
though they know that tomorrow
it all comes back on again
hunting for eggs.
Our rituals may seem pagan
but fun they must be
because why would we carry them on so
years later for not you or me
but the kids?
Have you colored the eggs yet?
Are they even boiled?
Remember don't leave them out overnight
though My Grandmother did!
(We never got sick from day old eggs)
but boil them, color them, decorate them
and hide them
all around
inside
outside
it is going to be fun!!!
Just remember what we are celebrating
and leave some time for Him.
Tell your children and grandkids
the miraculous Story of Jesus.
A thrill in your heart
that outlasts any egg.
These memories that we make
we will take
to our graves.
But the truth of it all
will never stop at the ground;
it goes below the mound
and beyond.
We are promised that rainbow
we are promised that mansion
that crown
but best of all
"no more tears, no more pain".
Here, let me explain:
give your heart
it's quite a risk
but it's so worth it, you know
as you grow
maybe backwards sometimes
stumble forward
He will always be there to catch you
if you fall.
Like tripping over the painted eggs
we can be tripping over our own mistakes
But He is there
He is within
all around
don't deny
don't be ashamed
He has never turned away from you.
I am staying true
though I may fail and fall often
my real treasures are with Him.
So have fun!!!
just remember
I won't preach
just wanted to reach
and remind you
of the joy
and the hope
The promise to come!
Jesus, I am so in love with you.
If I could sing
I would sing a love song to you.......
