The Scarred Stone

This person that you have become
is someone new and strange
to us
(We love you still)
Your dense wall is still there
I wonder if you care
or even know.

Your heart bleeds for so many
I would be rich for every worry
if one would equal a dollar
You live to help

But you are a rock
a hard stone
I cannot penetrate the being that is you;
seldom do you let a tear come out.

Your stony countenance
leaves no room for relief
Do you ever dream at night?
What was so horrible that gave you
this fright
and what happened that you seem to have no sight
as to what lies before you?

She sits on your lap and cuddles,
loves you and grooms you.
Cherish these days as they go somewhere
you may not follow.

Your sadness could almost make me cry
but your true friendship you deny
and I sit by you
watching you
listening to you
as you always talk about HER.

You are a black stone
you feel no pain
there is not much to gain
by spending time with me
but here you are
and I am not free
temporarily.

A compelling account, Meredith; one can feel the pain in the dilemma. Thank you for sharing this offering. Love and peace to you,

Regis

This is intense but kind of intriquing as if you talk about one you once loved or at least cared a lot about and have tried giving up on but in your heart you cannot.
