At their birth we do not know
which way any of our lives will go
but we live as though
we do.
Firmly planted in the ground
We listen to each sound
Our warmth, our strength we freely give
in abundance for our child to live.
We see the day
we let them play
We stretch our imaginations
so they can grow into their own dimensions.
A Mother's Heart
is not all we give.
Our bodies, spirit, minds
we live
throughout the years
unshed tears
unspoken fears.
Sometimes we feel it's not worth the pain
the cost may be in vain
but then we turn and see them
walking, talking, laughing, smiiing,
crying, learning
ever turning away
from us.
We step back a pace to look
and know we tried the best
The rest we pray
We give our children to You.
Into your care
we are not left bare
We will see them there
if a Mother's Prayer
is answered.
All our trust in You.
You gave us these Precious lambs
We give them back again
to keep.
We weep.
In time we will see
that in You we are free
Your embrace for us all
keeps us standing tall
as we linger close
to Your loving call.
