Eccentricities

What makes me unique, makes you uneasy

Are you turned off by my eccentricities?
that which you said you initially loved
now obviously distresses you
It is not I who changed
but rather your attitude toward me
and my eccentricities
You say they are a learned behavior
I say I was born with them and they cannot
be removed as if they were some type of birth mark
If you love me, you'll change, you say
If I did, it would not be me, but someone else that you loved

Ahh . . .perhaps therein lies the true answer
if any answer is completely true . . .the topic of a different discussion
