Dawn Shadows By K.C. Miller

The morning light looks different somehow,
and I feel that so are you.
Full of laughter, hugs, kisses and more,
you don't look at my face as you show me the door.

It's so quiet, dew on grass and trees,
nothing stirring, no people, no breeze.
I watch you look both ways, front and back,
afraid that someone might see.

Dawn shadows look different to me,
compared to last night, on your knees.
Now everything is changed, never the same,
you can't look in my eyes, and I'm to blame.

But last night, all too short, but blissful,
will stay with me, not enough, but special.
I hoped for more than us just needing someone,
to hope you'll leave your wife, is futile, just dumb.

Dawn Shadows look different to me,
about last night, I was eager to please
Now everything is changed, never the same,
I can't look in your eyes, because you're to blame.

So I go, taking note of the dawn,
knowing that you wish I were gone.
But your secret's safe with me,
you're not the first, (or the last) to set me free.

Dawn shadows look different to me,
compared to last night, on your knees.
Now everything is changed, never the same,
you can't look in my eyes, and I'm to blame.

Dawn shadows look different to me,
about last night, I was eager to please.
Now everything is changed, never the same,
I can't look in your eyes, because you're to blame.

Keep searching, you will find your soul mate and true love. It isn't always easy but it comes if you wait long enough. Take care and just wait it out for that someone special to come along. Meanwhile this is a very truthful write and very much a happening to many.

I love this! At last a real poem! Been searching for this one all morning. Tragic
but real and happens over and over and over.
What is lacking, Love? I think so, and until it is found, this night will play out over and over again. "Dawn Shadows" is a perfect name for this at least for most like myself, who spent their life in the dark. Merry Christmas Bill Murray
