This is a poem I wrote while writing with Headwaters Writers' Guild, using the writing prompt: "It must have been an omen."

Omen

It must have been an omen

of my life  to be

the first time I wrote a 'poem-en'

for my life has been a melody

of poetic moments, and I shall treasure them all

so much synchronicity

those times will never pall

It must have been an omen

the first time I caught a glimpse of you

standing there in the gloamin’

watching me, it seemed you knew

as much as I; our future was now.

And when we have an omen

that our future becomes the past

we’ll not do any moanin’

but with hands together clasped

we’ll take a final bow.

Wise romantic definition of togetherness in love... "Omen" flows and glows beautifully.

I salute You, Poet!

Reminded me of the late and great Sir Harry Lauder's song " Roaming in the Gloaming "....:)
Your poetry of late has developed progressively in emotion and spirituality
Excellent, Janet

And may it be so, Janet. "Gloamin'" Interesting word with which many are not familiar. Actually, I wrote a "poem" entitled "The Gloaming." I love the way this poem of yours flows with rhythm and rhyme. Thank you for sharing it. Love and peace to you,

Regis
