The nurse in white, ghosts from the past

Tended the victims of war

With wounds quite horrendous

And screams all around

They were peace in the midst of a fray

The nurses today wear colorful coats

Tending the victims of life

The wounds heal much better

The pain is well managed

And still they are the peace in the chaos

For whatever is worn whether color or white

They tend to their patients with care

They help the hurts heal,

They salve the pains sting

And bring peace to the place that they dwell

Oh hun I have so much to say! I am a nurse who deals with emotional stuff every day! I am a psych nurse, a catagory of nursing poorly appreciated until the mind has righted itself in the bathwater of dirty psychosis! Sometimes it never happens, and yet we always try, we always offer support and caring!

It's an interesting subject for poetry and I wonder if you would be interested in writing a piece from a closer distance and by appealing to the senses. I have the impression that there would be so much to learn, in poetic form, from the particular experience and emotions of a nurse. Lovely ghost from the past, really. Axilea
