Tonight the chill of winter whispers in quiet breezes

Tonight the chill of winter whispers in quiet breezes

And fall is winding down
as its colors fall in golden piles
On city lawns,
inspiring small children to jump and roll
In its beauty and crunchy softness
This is an uneasy time
Anticipation is apparent
The threat of a blizzards brutality
And of a soft snow’s cold handsomeness
Of vehicles unable to travel over icy surfaces
And the nip of frost on fingertips
Still it has its moments
Enjoyment of the time that’s here
Chilled, yet bearable in a hooded sweatshirt
A waiting game

Indeed it is a waiting game, waiting for you to be my winter warmer. ; )
Where has the year gone, soon it will be a new year that has crept up on us faster than it should. 1975? Hmmmm, and you look so young and mmm mmm in this year I'm in!
Top write, I wonder what 76 will bring.

As you said... we wait. I like the flow of your poem; the words are stirring. Lovely photo depicting a glorious season.
