Motherless Child

Motherless child

Born of nature’s womb

Rest thy weary head upon thy tomb

See the Light, gentle and mild

Beautiful golden beams

And cherished ruby streams?

Child of nature’s womb

In time's domain you do not abide

So arise and stand well aside

Now step into the blazing light

And ascend upon the golden beam

Sail home to thy source, glide upon the ruby stream

Child of my womb

In yonder realm there is no strife

In yonder realm there is but One Life

To me, this can be interpreted in various ways. There is not doubt however as to the hope of Life and Light beyond our sojourn on this earth. Thank you. Love and peace,

What a beautiful tribute to a child who died - or to a mother who lost her child (in yonder realm there is no strife - in yonder realm there is but one life)So much consolation in those words

To me, this is a poem giving comfort & hope to the motherless child in each of us to see beyond the strife & turmoil of this life & to press on to the light & love of eternal life in heaven. The golden beams & cherished streams are ways to navigate back to God.

Thanks for the vivid imagery! Nancie

When I read this, I got the feeling it was written by a parent who has lost a child. There can be no more painful experience for a mother or father but you've written something so inspiring and filled with love. It moved me to tears.

It may take me a while to grasp the true meaning of this poem in my spirit but, I like it. It feels like finding a place of complete acceptance of self. Thanks for sharing. Love, betty Torain
