All relationships teach us something and they don't always work out like we hope and pray for. We learn and grow from each adventure and always know we will stay with our own hearts knowing.

Beside Myself

I lived cozy

I lived hard

Beside Myself.

I shared me when

I was able.

Beside Myself

I learned to trust.

Beside Myself

I always was.

No disappointment

lingers there.

For I knew I would

always be

Beside Myself.

I invited others

to sit beside me.

To learn of themselves,

most left when the

shadow appeared in

Not me I stayed

Beside Myself.

Most joined others

whom they felt safer

Not me I stayed

Beside Myself.

Some say it's too big

of a price to pay to

stay Beside Myself.

But me I say what

better than to know

Myself in all its

For If I could not

stay Beside Myself.

I could

not stand beside you.

Many people never learn this. They are never really whole, are they? Well done, Rene.

So true. Loved the way you worded this.

True words you write here. If we cannot be beside ourselves and love ourself then we cannot be with someone else and love someone else. Thank you for this reminder.

Wonderful and oh so insightful write that you offer us here Rene with sage advice, some people never do learn to know themselves and spend their whole life living in or under other's shadows.

This is the first time I have read you but I have a feeling it won't be the last.

Until one can live with ones self, hen anyother relationship is doomed.
We need to be interdependant, for healthy relationship connections...

For If I could not
stay Beside Myself.
I could
not stand beside you.

I think that's very true, for all of us.
