Self Lecture

CARRYING YESTERDAY

Why does yesterday cling
to me, crying to be
included in my now?
So heavy with mistakes
it drains my energy,
binds my potential,
wastes the power of
the existing hour...
God help me to cease
carrying the past and
worrying the future--
help me remember
that the day and
the hour is now.
