Shadow Dreams
Shadows fall, night slips in
Sometimes it feels like a long lost friend
Darkness soothes this tired head
Wraps in smoothness with velvet thread
Peace at last, fills my mind
Leaves the emptiness far behind
Drift away upon a dream
Shadows, darkness all serene
Lift me now unto a mist
Images of lightness as on a wisp
Floating, dancing, swirl and turn
Perhaps the morning will no longer burn
Shadows lift, the skies alight
Wake up my dear, the new day is bright
Morning's canvas kissed by dawn
With deep sighs, another day carries on.
