Mother Earth

This is just my observations and opinion of what we are doing to this planet. No offence intended.

Mother Earth

You gave us the gift of life,
we give you death in return.

You present us with clear mountain springs,
we present you with nuclear waste dumps.

You provide clean fresh air,
we provide carbonmonoxide gas.

You contribute lush forests,
we contribute strip mines.

You contributed beautiful landscapes,
we contributed garbage dumps and landfills.

You provided a sea of wildflowers,
we provided uncounted miles of litter.

You presented us with tropical rainforests,
we presented you with concrete jungles.

You have given generously,
we have taken greedily.

Isn't it time for us to give something back?
Before Mother Earth takes back her gifts.

And one day we may pay a huge price for neglecting Mother Earth!

Bravo. I agree, we are destroying nature, and take it for granite thinking it will always be there. Great work. Don't stop writing.
