Another look at my darker side.
Life Without Love
Is there life after love has died?
When the sun sets does life continue?
Would you wish to live in the dark landscape of this world,
if there were no sunrises to look forward too?
No promise of a better tomorrow.
No sunsets to share,
No one too share them with.
No bright colored flowers or lush green trees.
No lovers moon,
The only light provided by the stars in the cold dark recesses of space.
The landscape bleak and barren akin to the dark side of the moon.
The sun has set on my last love.
I live in this dark lonely place I describe to you.
Things I've loved,
flowers, forests, the lovers moon
have lost their luster.
I relate all to well with that cold empty expanse of space.
Not sharing that sunset, or awaiting that sunrise.
Simply walking through the eternal night that my life has become.
The grief and loss capable of destroying all hope.
The loneliness enough to drive even the strongest man,
to the gates of insanity and beyond.
Have I now passed the point of no return?
I ponder this as I stare into the abyss.
Have I crossed over through the gates?
For this place IM in can only be hell.
Should I continue to walk the darkened landscape,
or would that be pure insanity?
