I have lived in quiet days
Full of wonder,love and grace
Reaching out to those in need
Disregarded by those of greed -
Who see no wrong in what they've done
To souls of precious little ones

To souls of precious little ones
Lost, discarded, abused so young
Disregarded, bruised and battered
No reason the cause, no reason to matter
They hide inside their tiny shells
Tortured in their private hells

Tortured in their private hells
From breath of birth their stories tell
Of loveless life and broken dreams
Innocence raped in bloody screams
Passed from place to place to live
With nothing but themselves to give

With nothing but themselves to give
They hope to find a place to live
Where they can find a safe retreat
A nice warm bed and food to eat
Yearning to live in quiet days
Full of wonder, love and grace

Full of wonder, love and grace
I welcome them to a sheltered place
Where harm is banished, fear destroyed
Peace and joy are there employed
To teach those hearts so badly broken
That love is real and not a token

A truly powerful piece on a truly tragic and heartbreaking situation for far too many of earth's 'small and broken' ones.

I echo your timeless and compassionate words, and like Joanne below, I know you are an Angel from heaven, and the world needs your insightful and comforting words like never before...:)
You reach to the heart of the matter in your own and inimitable way,
and drive out the darkness with the lamp of your wisdom and care..
Shine on dear one....you are commissioned by Almighty God in your divine mission !
Love and Blessings

Amira, outstanding poem with a topic of such importance it is difficult to write about. Yet you did so and in such a way that
anyone who reads it must weep and pray for better days to come
for the welfare of the worlds children! A keeper! Thank you for sharing!

Love,
Eileen
