My pet was 16 years old and had to be put to sleep. A close relative suggested It was time to do it so that she could be a rest.

I don't think anyone know that for sure except the Almighty. However, I heard it said that the pets of good people, such as you describe, do go there and that Heaven is like the Earth except more so. In other words, the earth was beautiful until people started trying to improve on God's work. Lil Flower
