In The Autumn
Passing times of explicit joy,
Bundled into a few moments.
Conscious, we seem to manage,
The blows of tribulation.
Strong somehow we stand,
Through life’s brutal storms.
Spring youth always endures,
Forever charmed by resilience.
Growth matures in proper phase,
Budding fruits for survival.
Preparation has begun,
In hopes of long withstanding.
Middle years come to term,
Shining rays of mixed emotion.
Feverish blisters persist,
As pain mounts further.
Cool comfort eventually comes,
Shading us from heated agony.
Rest gives soothing peace,
In the falling sways of season.
Bitterness has been forgotten,
Triumphant we prevailed.
Here is simply reminiscence,
In the autumn of our lives.
