How can giving be getting, how can logic be thus turned,
How can caring for others, more than self, be the lesson
He would, have us learn?
What of the old adage, that states: to thine own self be true ,
or the one that says: God helps those who for
themselves, do?
Well adages are proverbs, and in context you can see,
they might serve us towards independendence, and
self sufficiency.
These are traits we should have, as on others we can never rely,
but to put them ahead of His commands, is to propone
the devil's biggest lie.
God helps those who help others, that's as clear as clear can be,
but you must with your self, also,
find sufficiency.
For He cannot help who is sitting idle, and waiting for God to do it all; we must put our best foot forward,
and out there with Him, be.
For by faith are we counted as on the right team, and in doing we are blessed,
and are by Him given: our life's dream.
But to think for an instant, that the self is first in this plan,
is to deny the Truth, and play into the enemy of Righteousness's
alluring hand.
The self must be centered in the Holy Word,
must be by the Holy Spirit: comforted, lead,
and assured.
Then, when all is in line, and the chain of command is in place,
it goes from, self, to the Lord, and then comes back
in Grace,
and only then, can we ever hope to win
the race.
If we stand in Him, and on His Holy Word, and daily seek His face,
and listen for His still soft voice;
He will guide us to serve others, and daily help us,
make the right, and Holy choice.
So don't be fooled by taking care of # 1, or being true to you,
cause that's just what that wily devil,
wants you to do.
Stay in the Word, stay in prayer,
stay close to Him, give Him every thought, give Him
every care.
Your loving Daddy will bring you shining thru,
if, you but, put Him first, and joyously follow
His perfect will
for you.
"In everything I showed you, working hard in this manner, you must help the weak, and remember the words of the Lord Jesus, that He Himself said:
It is more blessed to give, than to receive"!
