He tied his horse to a branch, that hung over the flowing stream, took off his clothes,
and washed himself, scrubbed hands, feet and hair;
then washed his clothes one by one, and hung them up to dry, tomorrow he would go the church, whose steeple, he's spied, as he drove the cattle, past the town, sitting atop his favorite mare.
His hair was combed, his clothes were clean, and yet when he stepped, thru the churches door;
they acted as if he were a leper, no greeting, no welcome, just dirty looks, it cut him to the core.
He'd prayed for God to forgive him, these last few months, out on the range, he'd missed church, for 7 Sundays, in a row,
he wished, that he were home, and in the little chapel, at the edge of town, where God, had led him to go,
the people there, had welcomed him with open arms, and the pastor, seemed, to glow.
But he was at the end of the drive, and another week would go by; with, the loading, and payments, still, to do, before he could head back home;
so, when he'd spied the steeple yesterday, he praised God, that this lonely cowboy,
could go to church, two Sabbaths, in a row.
The service ended and he felt different somehow, the songs were the same, but
the pastor seemed cold and indifferent, and the people , not friendly, or kind, at all,
bewildered he got up to leave, and was nearly out the door, when, the pastor caught up with him, and led him back thru the hall
He looked at him with a sneer, and this is what he said:
"Before you come back here again, have a talk
with God, and ask him what he thinks would be
appropriate attire for services here."
then, put on his best frown.
The cowboy answered, that he surely would, as he got on his horse,
and rode out of town.
On the following Saturday, he finished up the work he had to do, and could have left
that very day,
but God told him not to go, and said: The pastor asked you, to ask, Me, and he deserves
to hear, what I had to say.
So on Sunday morning, the cowboy, with the same clean clothes,
he'd worn last week;
went thru the churches door, and was treated, much the same,
nobody shook his hand, said Hi, or asked him his name, not one kind word,
did they, speak.
The cowboy sang from his heart, and worshipped his God and his friend,
he paid no one, any mind
He was here, for and with, His Father, and remained friendly and kind
When the service ended, before the cowboy could leave the pew, the pastor loudly asked him,
if he'd done what he'd asked him to.
" I did" said the cowboy
"well, if you talked to God and asked him what I asked you to
then what did, He say, as to how you should be dressed
when you come thru that, there,
DOOR
"Well, Sir, God said he didn't have a clue what I should wear.
He said, he had no idea of the attire expected here; cause, up 'til last Sunday,
He'd NEVER, been, here

"I have no greater joy than this, to hear of my children walking in truth. Beloved you are acting faithfully in whatever you accomplish for the brethren, and especially for the strangers; and they bear witness before the entire church,
you do well, to send them on their way, in a manner worthy of God." 3 John 1:5-6
"He who has the seven Spirits, of God and the seven stars, says this: I know your deeds, that you have a name, that you are alive, but you are dead.
Wake up, and strengthen the things that remain, which were about to die; for I have not found your deeds completed, in the sight of my God.
Remember therefore what you have received and heard; and keep it-and repent.
If therefore you will not wake up, I will come like a thief in the night, and you will not know at what hour I will come upon you. But you have a few people, who have not soiled their garments;
and they walk with Me in white, for they are worthy. He who overcomes, shall thus be clothed, in white garments, and I will not erase his name from the book of life, and I will confess his name before MY Father, and before his angels.
He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches" Rev. 3:1-6
