LOSS
They say that time heals all wounds but how would I know?
For, time seems but an illusion, as I seek your face and hear your soft sweet voice every where I go.
I know that you have left me and I'm relieved that your pain has left as well
and yet I long to touch you and my heart will not accept the emptiness I feel
Memories assuage and attack as I stumble along on a solo journey I swore would never be
It's as if the world imploded and stole my very soul from me
My faith is in tact and yet my hollow being can't grasp it's strength to sustain
the minutes are as hours, days as years, yet time has not, as promised, removed one iota of the pain
I will go on I must get thru if only for all the rest,
and tho my heart is rent in two, I pray for strength, knowing I am, barely saving face
and yet, even in this, by my loving Father, am guided, held safe, and greatly blessed.

I will say of the LORD, [He is] my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust. |

| Comment: Very well done in showing your inner feelings at the same time recognizing the reality of death... I think you can empathically see how someone else has faced death of a loved one and can use it as a model...but each relationship is so unique, in my opinion, that only you will fully understand exactly what you've lost. Well said! |
