Some jokes are so short you have to "think" about them for a bit. I heard this one over 50 years ago.

       A Bicycle Made for Two

Two sailors on leave, hired a tandem,
And quietly rode along.
One behind the other,
Sharing a happy song.

Their legs together moved as one,
First left and then the right.
Up and down and round and round,
They made a handsome sight.

Then suddenly, a dog ran out,
Like a Wolfhound but somewhat shorter.
And over the two, as they pedaled by,
It emptied a bucket of water.
