Sadness

The death of a Nineteen year old beauty turned the World darker.

Received details by email Today

Of a Funeral so sad

I did not go,

Though Parents as deep friends

Deserved far better.

Remembrance of Date of Birth,

Baby noises made to entertain,

The dreaded first day of school,

Examination of the Art Collection

Pasted to the family fridge,

Blossoming to young Womanhood,

To simply crash from Cancer;

Brought the excuse of miles of distance,

And reading details by email.

We should share the horrors of life,

But sometimes too close;

Bringing only added misery.
