Child, Please!

The idea behind the poem is to express my determination to abstain from promiscuity because of my spiritual beliefs.

As a simple, single sistah

I just have to say,

If you think I'm easy

You need to look the other way.

I don't believe I have to give it up

To prove my love to you,

And if you think you can change my mind

Then we're already through.

See, I'm a traditional chick

When it comes to romance,

So unless we sign a marriage license

There's no need to unzip your pants.

Brotha, I don't play that

When it comes to my body,

So if you're that desperate

You better find another hottie.

Yes, I love you too,

And you're the type I could never hate,

But if you really love me

I am well worth the wait.

What if we did it

And then we broke up?

STDs, baby mama drama,

We'd both be messed up.

My body is a temple

And God is the One I should please,

So if you got a problem with that,

Child, please!

Yeah. You are right. Sometimes though, we get lost in the moment I guess. It's a good message though and if adhered to, it saves a lot pain and grief. Thank you, Latasha. Love and peace to you,

Regis

Amen! Today folks try to make it seem like you have a mental disorder because you abstain from sex outside of marriage. The world has truly changed.
