I agree that this is a poem that actually says something. These wise words give the young a glimpse of what it feels like to get old. Thank you for sharing.
May The Lord Jesus bless you, and those whom you love, and who love you, and be with you always, and at your side constantly. With much love in my heart, joy to the world, peace on earth, & ((((((((((MANY WONDERFUL SISTERLY HUGGGGSSSS)))))))))), your little sister, Barbie |

Hi Gloria,
A poem that actually says something, unlike so many here. I am of an age to appreciate that "dullness like opium" phrase. Well done.

Beautifully expressed! Passion is such a double edged sword...sometimes it is easy to long for the numbness of nothingness...and yet?

Dear Gloria;
What a sad poem... but so well done! Excellent.
May I recommend my "Crystal Dreams" and "He Spoke of Leila Rose"?

Wow this is the first time I have read your work but do not think it will be the last. This is a powerful and all too true work of passion and the troubles and pain it can put us through.

"unfertile land of old age."
I am not yet old...but have seen many older people as passionately in love as those in their twenties...for their is no "aging" in amorous hearts, Gloria.
Your poem is lovely. I enjoyed it much! |
