Celebrating a uniquely gifted multilingual Author/Poet – George Edvard Mateos

3/19/1925 - 8/30/2010

EVEN THE GODS KNOW OF HIM ...

A grand gentleman’,
Generous and humorous,
Touching his readers
With candid insightfulness,
And profound words of wisdom

An honorable
Reflection of singular
EXPRESSIONISM

With genteel nature
Striking out at injustice,
A writer compelled

With hands artistic,
Given to sculpting beauty,
This man of talents
Exemplifies convictions
With images most sublime

A world traveler
And talented polyglot,
Given to using
English, German, Japanese,
Spanish, and even Russian

Skillful and dextrous
In the linguistic process,
WORD RIVERS flowing
With fecund gifts portraying
His life and experience

Accepting others,
And befriending anyone
With understanding and love

Euterpe sings grace
With chorus of silver flutes,
In celebration
Zeus and Hestia join hands
With the river gods and nymphs

Persephone smiles
As Aphrodite dances
With Proserpina;
In stark persuasions calling
Athena and Demeter

To stand and honor
This man of many talents
With all who agree

To have a such illustrious author telling you of being his compeer is perhaps the ultimate and most wished tribute any poet can get.
Recognition is what everybody dream of, and when we get it I hope we are worth of it.
With my gratitude
