The Road

It's up, it's down... no it's over there, or --

No matter where you are on the road—

You always are where you are.

You can stop—you can listen, or

Turn around any way.

You always are where you are.

Look back on years just past, filled with

Sunshine, small clouds, some rain,

And know--

You always are where you are.

Look down, to your feet on the road,

Then up to the sky, finally

See the path ahead;

There’s promise around that bend.

Still--

You always are where you are.

A philosophical touching through the symbological body of this poem on "The Road" of life becomes a poetic flower with aroma of wisdom.

Not only are we always where we are...but it's okay to be there. But when there is doubt..instead we should feel blessed we've made it that far.
Excellent write.

Always the present, even when the past and future are still in view.
Nice representation of that.

Very nice. Great write. You capture the essence of the metaphysical journey of life. We are at all points on the road, even those points we are not aware of occupying due to the illusion of memory and time. And reguardless of decisions, self endures.
