Beware of labels in these times... much is about to become Known.

Nothing Is As Nothing Does

In the Beginning
Was the Word,
And the Word was Nothing.
Nothing was
Calm, Quiet, and Still
For quite a long while.
Then,
Nothing wanted to see
What nothing looked like,
And discovered that,
To see nothing or even Nothing,
Something had to be added.
And then it got complicated.

Something About Nothing

One day Something said, “Bah! I AM Nothing!
How could I have thought I have worth?”

Wailing of hands and voice.

Nothing heard, said nothing in reply.
Sending only waves of love to Something.

The Veil must be preserved.

Still, Something had called by Name, saying:
“I AM Nothing!”

Finally Nothing, knowing The Plan, said--

“Soon.”

“What?” cried Something, “Who are You?”

“Soon.”

Repeated.

“Soon what?”

Something is totally frustrated.

Knowing not what, or from when, let alone how.

Something listened again,

strained to hear The Voice

that came from Nothing.

“It is a Mystery,” decided Something.

"I will teach my children this fact:
“There is great Mystery in Nothing.”

“But, Teacher,” cry the Young,
“What is Nothing?”

Meanwhile Nothing said to nothing at ALL--
“That was Something.”

In "Wind, Sand and Stars" by the famous French author Antoine De Saint-Exupery, he wrote about a Bedouin woman, who seemed thinking for hours. When he asked her: "Lady what are thinking about?" She responded: "Nothing" After reading this book I realized the value of "nothing". Your poem reminded me of this passage. Thank you for sharing your thoughts with us. Emile

A wit-wise wonderful composition... "Before Genesis" is what makes me think on poetic excellence. Reading this magnificent work of art my thoughts follow the glowing magic of the diamond letters of the words used to poetize this poem to enrich the treasure of The American Fine Letters.

"Before Genesis" and after genius, this poem is to be studied through the millennia by those that enjoy The Major Art.

I salute You, Poet!

Wow, that's a lot of nothing to wrap my head around. Strange write. It makes a lot of sense unless you start thinking about it. Great job.
