This is to you.

You told me about him today,
And I have to say that happiness was not the initial emotion I felt.
It was sadness.
Sadness because once again I’ve lost someone that I had real feelings for someone more than a true friend.
And there’s more. I was jealous, too.
Jealous because the priorities I’ve made have stayed foremost in my mind.
So that I don’t seem to find time to enjoy other’s company.
Except for when I want something from them.
Yes, I can admit that for me people have their place
And if they stay there I don’t have to face other possibilities.
But when you told me about him today
The fact that stayed with me was the way you seemed happy.
And I like that. You deserve that.
Would I change anything? Probably not.
So enjoy what you have, and I won’t tempt you.
Listen to your feelings and try to keep them honest and true .
I’m feeling somewhat subdued but can admit that now someone else is there to finish what I started.
It’s hard to believe but I’m okay with that, because I love you. I love you.
Today and always you’ll stay a part of my life.
