Oily substance= black gold

O Lord it is now that I turn to look

At you abruptly from a glass display

Of my image to stare at you

Withe the serious madness of some thin faced

And starving animal whose souless eyes are rapt

With poetic vision and with hunger.

It is now that I lie in death remembering

Of my peaceful island and it's blue green sea

Where I dreamed the stars kissed the waters

And where the whispering wind paused

In whispering 1000 times

To lift me up and sweep me away

And to sing with me the sweet song

Of childhood.

I ask for one tiny sip

Of cool clear water

And from out of the desert's hot lip

Some oily sunstance came bubbling

And your children of light

Who banished me to die- turn and lay claim

To my bitter drink...

Wow! A deep write my friend, one also a bit sad. Very well written, you grab the readers attention from the beginning and keep them captivated through to the finish! Enjoyed!

Your view of this poetic spirituality that one is evolved through and into as the escape and return from childhood to death and to childhood once again...a very interesting thought of the drink of life and how it can be a grasp for a small drop of a drink and yet the ones who also seek it's flavor at times are the same who wish to banish us away....

nice work.....Art Sun...
